An impressive military display at the heart of China… I think they were beginning to prepare for the olympics. They would stand for 30 seconds, balanced with their feet sticking out, then suddenly start marching again.

China doesn’t seem like a good place to ‘act out’ in general, but standing right in the epicenter of China’s (symbolic if not actual) center of power is really intimidating. It was strange to be there in the midst of feeling like my country is at odds with this country. Also it made this person’s actions all the more amazing to me:
